I have a Verizon Palm Pre. Currently I pay for unlimited access for my phone...as well as an additional monthly charge to use it as a wireless hub for my computer. So I am being double charged I think. The wireless hub has a monthly limit. I would like to just use the tether so that it only shows that I am using the phone vs the hub. Can I do that with your program? Will the tethered service slow down tremendously? Do you allow a free trial offer so I can see if this will work?

I used to have a droid. I just tethered it.....and away I went. No extra charges. I don't need a wireless hub as I only use one computer and it goes with me everywhere.

Thanks

i've followed the manual listed above.

enabled dev mode
installed SDK
installed the most recent tether app

enabled USB and turned on what you are supposed to.

windows 7 x64bit confirms connected to a network via linux device.
but no internet connection.

Has anyone tried this with WebOs 2.0 ?

I just got my Palm Pre 2 and could really use any kind of tethering (USB or Hotspot) but I'm a bit reluctant to just give it a go without any feedback on 2.0 compatibility...

I'm having the same problem with my tethering in regards to turning 'on' in the usb mode.. Although I have been using my phone as a modem for over 6 months now all of a sudden after last night's 'update' it seems that the 'on' button is somehow frozen.. It HAS to be something to do with the newest palm pre update.. Am wondering if there is a way around this?

Thanks everyone, and especially to you kind sir for these awesome directions that have served me SO well :)

This seems to be pretty different if attempted on Windows Vista (I'm running 64bit).

The WebOS page simply states to go into device manager and find the device, but it's not even showing up for me anywhere under the manager (you'd think they'd at least tell you what section it would be under).

I do get a pop-up "install drivers" prompt when I plug the phone in, but it can't find any drivers by itself (obviously), and doesn't give the option to locate drivers manually, otherwise I'd try using the .inf file that is linked for windows XP. The best you can do on vista seems to be to point it to a folder.

Driving me crazy, I just spent roughly an hour trying to get this to work to no avail. Any help would be great.
