data usage can be turned off (with wifi off) and you'll still be able to rx/tx voice and sms, and really save your battery. As long as your not using the web or waiting for that important email you can get Killer battery life out of this thing

Proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery requires keeping the electrons in it moving occasionally. Go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

Hate to break it to you but this "fix" does NOT give you 3-4 days. Either you have a super battery, hardly use your Pre at all, or have an anorexic Pre (doesn't wanna eat the battery? ... anorexic? Get it? ... never mind.)

Joking aside folks, I definitely recommend lowering the brightness down to minimum, but don't expect miracles with this alone. There IS a tweak where you can reduce the minimum brightness even more using WebOS Quick Installer via precentral.net ... I recommend that tweak, among others!

Since the data is always on anyways, it'd save more if you turn off the wifi. Of course, if you turn off the data/voice and turn on WiFi only, you might save power but I don't think you will be able to receive call then.

I thought having wifi turned on used less power than the sprint data network. Otherwise, good ideas
