Earbud Reviews for your Smartphone!

For those of you who are still using stock earphones that came with your smartphone such as your Palm Pre, you should really consider buying an earbud to enjoy a full listening experience.

I personally use Jbuds J2 earbuds, which I recently got because Jlab, the company that makes the earbuds, slashed their prices from $79.99 to just around $14. It’s a killer deal if you ask me and you won’t find this deal anywhere but from Amazon so get them while they last as I think Jlab is trying to just get rid of them.

You can read the best earbud reviews here on my new blog about Earbud Reviews where I’ve ranked the best earbuds by their performance. (and I found out you don’t have to pay more to get the best) I’ve also ordered a bunch more high-end earbuds for hands-on review so watch out for that too.

My favorite Palm Pre application is “RadioTime” and of course, my Jbuds J2 earbuds while hitting golf balls on the range.

How to Make a Touchstone Palm Pre Car Mount!

Here’s a ridiculously cool hack that shows you how to make a Touchstone Palm Pre Car Mount. As for me, I will keep my Palm Pre Touchstone on my desk where its used more often but I might consider putting one in my car soon too for turn-by-voice GPS navigation.

I personally use a Duracell Inverter which does a great job of re-charging all of my gadgets including USB and AC. If you don’t want to open up and hack your car’s dashboard, you might want to use the inverter instead too.

I have tried my Touchstone on my car using the AC power via my Duracell inverter and it works really well. When I tried using the USB (which Touchstone manual says not to), it simply didn’t work but this hack should work since it’s driving power directly from 12V DC of the car battery. (The author says it should work flawlessly if you use the Palm 12V to USB charger (which I have) so I would suggest to try it out and let me know in the comments!)

Palm Pre USB Cable!

I just spent $29.99 at Radio Shack for a in-car Palm Pre charger, which comes with a Palm Pre USB cable. I guess these are hard to come by in retail stores but Amazon sells them for just one dollar! Talk about rip-offs.

Order a couple of these so you have one in your home and office at the least. I lost my USB cable and ended up buying a Touchstone charger first (which didn’t come with a USB cable and I got ripped off by buying at $69.99 at BestBuy, avoid BestBuy for Palm Pre accessories!) and then I bought the in-car charger for a total of almost $100!

Save yourself a bunch of money by getting 5 of these. I believe these are also the same ones used on Blackberry Storm.

I am going to order a bunch of these right now.
